I’m a Slovak Romani woman who was born in Slovakia, raised (mostly) in England, but now living in the US. I speak a somewhat jumbled mess of Servika and Bergitka Romanes (with some Anglo-Romani).
I am currently a full-time post-Graduate student (Cultural Studies and Discourses). I recently graduated with an MA in Communication (focus in International and Family Communication) and have a BA Honors in International Studies (dual minor in History and Geography).
I am working on several books, including poetry, children’s and young adult fiction, and non-fiction. I feel like there is a vast lack of bilingual books (in Romani and English/French/Slovak/German/etc.) available for those of us who’d like to read our own language, but perhaps aren’t fluent.
I am also an avid photographer and am currently editing an online gallery of my photographs (for sale), so please revisit soon!
