Biagoresko Porrajmos

The Porrajmos, by Katarzyna Pollak

It didn’t end in World War II like the books and movies and politicians tell you.

It didn’t end with the liberation of Auschwitz and Dachau.

It didn’t end with the rebuilding of London and Paris and Berlin.

It didn’t end with the Nuremburg Trials (that didn’t even mention us anyway).

It didn’t end with the Sh’erit ha-Pletah or the closing of Schauenstein and Föhrenwald.

It didn’t end with repatriation and recovery.

It didn’t end with compensation, recognition, or respect,  because we never got any.

The ghettos and barbed-wire and hate are still there.

It didn’t end.
