Okay, so one thing that bothers me about being an Asian language student is that people automatically assume that I know every line from every cheesy anime that there is. Point number 1: I really don’t like anime… and I’m not studying the languages so that I can watch Naruto. Really.
Point 2: is people who make friends with Asian exchange students as some kind of one-up system. “woo look at me, I have a Japanese friend”… I find it really annoying. I was recently dumped as a friend because I had no Asian students in my possé… replaced instead by an asshole guy who was hosting a Japanese girl. (I guess I knew that was coming, as the person in question was really lame about it all the time. Getting upset because she had no “Japanese friends” and desperately wanting a Japanese boyfriend. Just so she could say she had a Japanese boyfriend).

I can’t stand that. It bugs me soooo much. I am interested in learning about culture and language and am interested to talk to everyone about that. Sure, I have a special love for all things Asian, but I would never go so far as to ditch a friend over it!

Edit: So, I had to edit this. There’s a guy in my Korean class who… well, is a little weird (변태) and Toria and I have thought this for a very long time. We discovered today from Su Min, that he has a .. MANNEQUIN in his house dressed as a Japanese school girl (complete with fake boobs and loose socks). He has boob shaped pillows and only hangs out with younger Asian girls (he’s in his 40′s). HOW creepy is that? He’s taking several Korean girls on a trip over Winter break (he’s paying for everything as long as they share a room with him… O.o) and I’m kind of worried. I think he is definitely 변태 (sicko, pervert) and really they shouldn’t go. It scares me to think that he’s so obsessed with girls and… ergh. >.< I don’t know what to do!!
