Kyung Hee

Looking at summer programs is totally killing me!! 김선생님 recommended a program at Kyung Hee University, in Seoul. It sounds great (waved tuition and free dorm). It’s a three week program and has a scholarship available. You need recommended by your University Korean faculty though–but since 김선생님 graduated from Kyung Hee , I am not really worried about that! I just wish she’d return from Korea quickly so we can work on it!!! >.<

At the back of the photo above, you can just see the towers of Kyung Hee University. It’s got amazing Western style architecture (reminds me of somewhere like Westminster Abbey), but it seems out of place in Seoul!!

Kyung Hee University, so pretty!

So, now we just have to wait until 김선생님 returns from her trip to Korea so that we can set the wheels in motion. I am a little nervous about the whole thing. I really, really want to be able to take such an opportunity, but at the same time, it’s an awful lot to organize (but if I can get credit for it, I wouldn’t have to take so many credits next semester, or in the fall!!)

Part of me wishes that it was in Busan (or somewhere like that) so that I could hop over to Japan for a week or so!! Never mind, right now I need to focus on one thing at a time. And the thing right now, happens to be my 15 minute speech for tomorrow (major UGH) on “confessional poets”. I chose Plath and Roethke (and they have absolutely nothing to do with Asian languages, *sigh* lol). But then, I’m finding Toria and we’re going to go meet 수민 to study for a while before Korean class. We have a big exam on Wednesday that covers “everything up until now”. eep!  >.>

And that “everything” is quite a lot!!

안녕!
