After I posted that I was seriously going to drop the Japanese for now, several things happen. First, I saw Big Bang’s new video, then I received several emails and comments telling me NOT to. Then, to top it all off, a Korean friend told me they read my blog because they’re learning Japanese…
>.<
So, here we are. New Japanese grammar for the weekend… LOL… =^.^=
ように言う
Meaning: V, To say to (do something)
Examples:
医者に控えるように言われているのでお酒が飲めなくて、ウズウズしている。
My doctor told me to lay off the liquor so I have this uneasy impatient feeling.
医者は彼に酒を控えるように忠告した。
The doctor advised him to keep away from drinking.
医者なら誰でも君に禁煙するように言うだろう。
Any doctor will tell you to quit smoking.
私は図書館の職員に金曜日締め切りのレポートのためにその本が必要だと言った。そうしたら彼女は借りている人に返却を求めるように言うと言った。
I told the librarian that I needed the book for a report due on Friday; so she said she would call it in.
するように言って : tell (someone) to do.
So, just a short little grammar post today. We have rather a lot to do for Halloween tonight.
Phoenix wants to be a robot zombie from outerspace…. ^0^
Here are our pumpkins:

Scary and cute... 恐いいと可愛い

*muhahaha*

Did you make those pumpkins? great works! As for Japanese language, I think it would be great if you could put the ‘Romanji’ as well so people who don’t read hiragana and Kanji could learn from your blog too, what do you reckon?
Oh, I’ve linked your blog too..
Cheers..
Yes, my hubby and I made the pumpkins supervised by our 6 year old. ^_^ Putting hiragana and romaji would be no problem! I’ve been meaning to do that too… I always seem to run out of time and post it!! I’d recommend learning hiragana at least, if you’re really wanting to learn Japanese. Makes it so much easier!
Very nice looking pumpkins! So pro-looking!
Was the left one not too scary for your son? haha
btw, you have soooo much stuff on your blog (maybe too much?), and I don’t know if you know, your banner also isnt displaying correctly, it only shows ‘ldenZephyr’, the ‘Go’ got cut off? And your serach box at the top is covering ‘korean’…
My son wanted the one on the left, lol!! He isn’t easily scared I guess!
And argh! It must be something to do with browser/screen resolution. It looks fine on all those I’ve checked. I guess I better make it smaller!! Thanks so much for letting me know!
And yes, there *is* too much stuff on my blog. LOL. I got a bit… erm.. carried away! すみません!I’m a javascript widget addict. *goes to tone it down a bit* ^o^
