It’s still snowing~! We’re supposed to get another 10″ on top of the remaining 5 or so from the last snow storm (which gave us about a foot). It’s pretty much a white-out right now!! Glad that they canceled my school, that’s for sure! In other news, I made the Korean Blog List so I’m super [...] So, I’ve fallen upon another addiction. It is the game known as “Okami” : Okami The game play and visuals are absolutely stunning. Released in 2006 by Clover Studios Okami, or 大神 in Japanese was a Hideaki Kamiya masterpiece.
I can’t believe it’s Christmas on Friday! Things have been so crazy here I haven’t had time to even check everyone’s blogs! I feel so behind! I’ve decided that after Christmas I’m probably going to either opt for keyboard stickers or just getting a fine-tipped sharpie and writing the letters on myself. There’s no point getting [...] I found out about a cool website this week. It’s called “Wordle” and it makes a graphic representation of the words on a website. Here’s mine (I did this while I was, erm, studying…): So, we’re heating up for the final run now. We have a World Cultures something, LOL, on Friday where we’re singing the New Year Song. My son and I are wearing traditional costumes. (I’ll post photos later!) It’s going to be fun! Then on Saturday we have a party at my Korean professors house. I [...] These “Spinning Top Dice” are popular in Japan, and I was lucky enough to win a game including them today. There is an “International Week” taking place at our school and today was Japanese day. We visited from 11am and came away with quite a good stash of goodies. I won a ton of candy, [...] (Once again, hover your mouse over kanji, hiragana or hangul and you’ll see pronunciation and meaning!!) It’s a hard concept to understand: If I’m in a classroom (Korean or Japanese), and my professor is 15 years younger than me, I still have to show incredible respect. 先生 and 선상님 are both positions worthy of such respect. [...] Here we go! Finally some Japanese grammar. Since I keep on doing Korean, I thought I would post this (if you place your mouse over the Kanji or Katakana words, the hiragana, romaji and meaning will pop up! Just like magic!!): 続ける - つづける Meaning: keep on doing … Examples: ダイエット中のくせにあくまでも甘い物を食べつづけます。 I have to say, both Big Bang and F.T Island are currently urging me to study more Japanese! ^_^ While wasting time researching online today, I came across F.T Island’s newest song “Raining”: I have fallen in love with these bilingual boys (technically, they’re trilingual–at least, but bilingual worked better with “boys”….) It’s things like this I think [...] They seem never ending! I have a literature one this morning and then a test in Korean this afternoon. I have yet to study for either of them…. and it’s already after 7am. OOps. I am pretty tired of exams!! It’s all I seem to do, study for them. I’m lucky this semester though, I [...] |
