Andro suno giljori giljavas.
Na džanav akana savi oda sas.
Ča džanav,

Trine orendar uštiljom
e blaka phuterdjom,
avri pre ma vičinen:
Šunes, sar le Romenge

Dar pre ma pejlja,

Le vešenca phirav,

Pro romane khera

Couple walking in the forest

English - Dream I

In my dream I was singing.

I don’t know now, what kind it was.

I only know that father played the violin and wept.

At three in the morning I got up,

and I opened the window,

from outside they called me:

Can you hear, are the Romani bells ringing?

Fear seized me,

bells ring only if someone dies!

I walk within the woods,

I call for my mother and brothers,

I cry with my sisters and the children.

I cannot find him.

I only hear the ringing

in my dream,

slowly for Romani life

they beat out.

Through Romani houses

a black scarf is spread,

and I cannot do anything.
